Hi, my laptop died three days before christmas (and I have to wait to send it off for repair till mid jan because of the holidays. *weep*) and I've pretty much decided that even though I'm getting it repaired, its over three years old now and the extended warranty runs out in a couple of months anyway so it might be time to upgrade to a new computer. I've been looking at whats around and I am contemplating an iMac (desktop) as they are almost comparable in price at the moment for what you get with a windows box.

My question is, I guess... how well does WoW run on them? The choice I seem to have with the iMacs for processors/graphic cards are:

3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics with 256MB
2.66GHz Intel Core i5 (or 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7) / ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics with 512MB

Is that good enough for gaming? In particular WoW (mostly playing BGs and the occasional dungeon and other regular gameplay) The windows ones I've looked at the graphics cards all have 1gb of dedicated memory, so I guess that is what is concerning me the most, that 256mb/512mb isn't enough. But I'm pretty sure WoW has a large group of mac players so it must be, right?

==

Also, as an aside... as I've been a windows user up till now, I've had the windows version of WoW installed. If I switch to Mac, will I need to purchast a new copy of the game? or will I be able to download a Mac version (free?) and use my current account?

I apologise if this has been asked before or often, I just happened to find this community via google.

I'm looking for opinions on the best way to help keep my hair vibrant. It's currently red and after a few weeks, it's already faded quite a bit.

Thinking about subscribing to the new WoW magazine that they are promoting on the WoW launcher? Ive been looking at it and debating. I just don't want to subscribe to a magazine with 148 pages of crap that I already know and was released 2 months ago yunno?

For those of you unawares of the new magazine : http://www.worldofwarcraftthemagazine.com/

It looks promising.. but I still dunno

Hey, so I'm really bored with my hair. I look in the mirror and go, "okay..." and that's all. I want to look in the mirror and go, "yeah! woo! my hair!"
Here I am now:

It has turned into this warm dark brown color which I am just okay with. Not thrilled or disappointed. Just okay.

not to press 1 in my rotation. It was entirely frustrating.

I had a tank yell at me to stop bubbling them, because they weren't gaining enough rage. I'm disc and I even linked them to rapture.

It was a random dungeon, so I was happy to think I may never have to run into this guy again..That was until I realized he was from my home server. /facepalm

Next time, I think I'll tell him to stop pressing 1 too. :\

Layout Name: Seasonal Snow Globe
S2 Style: Bloggish
Layout In Use: here
Tested In: Works in Firefox 3.5, Chrome, and Safari. Unsurprisingly, as IE does not come close to rendering CSS as it's meant to, it is not recommended for IE8.

Hello All. I am interested in playing WoW, but I really don't know where to begin. I'll explain myself.

Not too long ago I bought the 14-day trial of the game, and I'm going to install it tomorrow. However, the biggest question I'm sure most new WoW players ask themselves is: "Which class should I be?" So...which class should I be? I did one of those lame quizzes on another phishing site (please don't ask, I still have that "dirty feeling"), and it suggested I play as a Rogue. From what my WoW friends told me, a large percentage of people play as Rogues anyway. I was hoping that lame quiz would suggest a class that is rarely played.

Just so you all know, I am not an MMORPG noob. I played MapleStory for quite a while, and I want to play something more grown-up.

So...since my question is related to character class, please help me with your suggestions based upon my preferences.
1) I want to be a class that can level quickly;
2) I want to be able to take a beating and not die from a scratch, but I don't want to be a "tank" or a "damage dealer" exlusively;
3) I want to be unique, but I'll pick something more generalized if that class honors the first two criteria.

What do you all suggest? Should I be a Rogue, or something different. If I really like this trial I'll probably play this game on a regular basis if/when I get a new laptop. Thank you for your time and help.

~~Nick

Server/Realm (US/EU): Whisperwind (US)
Racial starting area: Blood Elf
Your character: Isobila, riding on an olive raptor
How long will you be on: Idealistically, until the charter is full. Perhaps a bit more likely, another hour and a half or so.
Guild name: Strange Brew

Phew, grinding for signatures is thirsty work! If you could help me out, I'd be much obliged!

Edit: Just need two more! And, since WoW freezes when I switch windows, please allow me a moment to reconnect myself. /blush. Thanks so much to all who have already signed! :) Got a full charter! Thank you so much to all who signed for making it so quick and easy! You're all the best! :D

I have looked through the tags but I couldn't find it, perhaps you can help me?

I'm looking for an addon that automatically switches tracking. I've tried Track-o-matique and zzHunter and neither actually work. I'd actually swear zzHunter was actively trolling me, because it would switch my tracking to utterly irrelevant things, even when I'd told it to be disabled.

Do you guys know of one that does currently work?

Thanks.
